In practice, you pay us for using our software and you pay OpenAI for any AI usage you incur. It works out very cost-effective when compared to plans where the AI usage is included in the plan price.

This means that you will need to have a paid OpenAI API account with billing enabled. Settings up an OpenAI account and getting hold of an API key is super simple, and we will guide your through the entire process.

You should also ensure that your rate limits are sufficient to use Machined, we require a minimum of 200 RPM and 50,000 TPM limits for the gpt-3.5-turbo and gpt-3.5-turbo-16k models. You can check your rate limits for your account at https://platform.openai.com/account/rate-limits.
