What is the BYOK plan?

BYOK stands for "bring your own key". You pay a flat $99 per month for the Machined platform and connect your own API key from the AI provider of your choice — Anthropic, OpenAI or Google, or OpenRouter to reach all of them with a single key. Your AI usage is then billed directly by that provider rather than by us. It includes 2,000 articles per month, unlimited projects and CMS connections, and 10 team members. If you publish at high volume, it is the most cost-effective way to run Machined and gives you direct control over your AI spend.

How does the free trial work?

When you sign up, you get a 7-day free trial with full access to the Launch plan — no credit card required. After your trial ends, choose whichever paid plan fits your volume to carry on publishing. You won't be charged automatically, and nothing you have created is deleted while you decide.

Can I cancel or downgrade my plan anytime?

Yes, you can cancel or downgrade your subscription anytime with no penalties or fees. After cancelling, you'll maintain full access until the end of your current billing period. Your content, clusters, and settings are preserved — you can always upgrade again later. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you never lose access you've paid for.

Do you offer refunds?

Because every new account includes a free trial of a paid plan with no credit card required, we do not offer refunds once a subscription has been charged. We encourage you to use the trial period to make sure Machined is the right fit before subscribing.
