Content Types
Overview
Machined supports multiple content types out of the box, allowing you to control the type of content that the writing agent will create.
If you prefer, you can also create a custom outline for any individual article.
Build-in Content Types

| Ultimate Guide | Covers a topic exhaustively, serves as the definitive resource, and link to deeper articles |
| Informational | Long-form well structured article, covering the topic in detail, clear H2, H3 and H4 structure |
| Listicle | “Top N” list with brief blurbs and consistent scoring or pros/cons |
| Roundup | “Best X in 2025” list emphasising freshness and comparison tables |
| Review | Hands-on evaluation of one product with test results, screenshots, and rating |
| Comparison | Overview, side-by-side table of two products (“X vs Y”) plus verdict section |
| Tutorial | Step-by-step instructions with numbered headings and screenshots or code snippets |
| Troubleshooting | Quick-fire diagnosis table: symptom → cause → fix |
Heading Style
When using the built-in content types, the AI Agent will automatically generate a suitable outline. You can instruct the writing agent to use either Title Case or Sentence Case when creating headings.
The heading style setting is under the advanced settings tab
