Quickstart

When you sign up, Machined automatically creates your workspace and first project as part of onboarding. You'll start on a free trial of the Launch plan — no API key required to get started.

Step 1: Create a brand voice​

A brand voice trains Machined on your writing style so all generated content sounds consistent and on-brand.

  1. Click Brand Voice in the sidebar

  1. Enter up to 3 URLs of articles or blog posts that represent your writing style (or use the Paste Content tab to paste text directly)

  1. Click Analyze Voice — this takes up to 30 seconds
  2. Review your Brand Voice Profile — Machined will suggest a tone, perspective, and a set of do's and don'ts based on your content. Edit anything that doesn't look right.

  1. Click Save to Project, give your voice a name, and click Save

Your voice is now saved to the project and will be applied when generating content.

Step 2: Connect your CMS​

Connect your WordPress or Webflow site so you can publish articles directly from Machined. Without this step you can still export content, but won't be able to publish.

Step 3: Write content​

Machined gives you two ways to create content:

  • Clusters — a collection of interlinked articles covering different aspects of the same topic. Best for building topical authority.
  • Single articles — generate one article at a time. Best for one-off pieces.

Create a cluster​

  1. Click Clusters in the sidebar, then New Cluster
  2. Select Auto-Pilot mode
  3. Enter your main keyword, for example: how to grow tomatoes
  4. Set your target audience, language, and cluster size
  5. Click Create cluster

Machined will research keywords and generate a cluster of articles. This typically takes about a minute.

Create a single article​

  1. Click Articles in the sidebar, then New Article
  2. Enter your target keyword
  3. Set your target audience and language
  4. Click Write Article
