Unique insights and secondary keywords
Two settings help an article go beyond what's already ranking: unique insights add your own expertise and point of view, and secondary keywords work extra terms into the article.
Unique insights
Unique insights tell Machined what you know that others don't: your experience, your results or your strong opinions. Machined uses them to shape the article's viewpoint and give it authority, rather than quoting them word for word.
For example: "10 years in B2B SaaS marketing, worked with 50+ companies on content strategy."
Your project's unique insight
Save your unique insight once in Project settings → Brand identity, under Unique insight.
Adding insights to an article
When creating a single article, open Unique insights under Advanced settings. Write insights specific to this article, or click Use from project settings to fill in your project's unique insight.
For clusters, add insights per article, or for every article at once, in the Custom tab of the cluster table.
Unique insights are added per article, so they aren't part of your writing defaults.
Secondary keywords
Secondary keywords are related terms and phrases you'd like the article to include alongside its target keyword. Machined uses them as section topics where they fit naturally, and works them into the text without forcing them.
When creating a single article, open Secondary keywords under Advanced settings and enter them in Additional keywords to include, separated by commas, or click Upload CSV.
For example: "coffee grinder, espresso machine, french press"
Secondary keywords are available for single articles. Cluster articles each target their own keyword from the cluster.
