FAQ section

Turn on the FAQ section to add a short set of frequently asked questions to the end of your article. FAQs answer the questions readers commonly ask about your topic, and are aimed at featured snippets in search results.

What you get​

When the FAQ section is on, the article ends with 4 to 6 reader questions, each as its own heading with a concise answer. If the article has a References section (see Research), the FAQ comes before it.

When it's off, Machined makes sure the article doesn't include an FAQ section.

Turning on the FAQ section​

  • Single articles: under Advanced settings → SEO enhancements, turn on FAQ section
  • Clusters: in the SEO tab of the cluster table
  • Whole project: turn on FAQ section in writing defaults, under SEO

The FAQ section is off by default.
