Exporting

There are two ways to get a single article out of Machined.ai: Copy and Export. Both are in the bar above the article in the editor.

These buttons appear once an article has been written. While an article is queued or being written, the editor shows its progress instead.

If you're publishing to a connected CMS or a webhook, you can skip exporting entirely. See Publishing.

Copy​

Click Copy to copy the article to your clipboard with its formatting. You can then paste it directly into any editor: Google Docs, Notion, Word, or anywhere else that accepts rich text.

If your browser doesn't support copying formatted content, Machined copies plain text instead and tells you so ("Copied to clipboard (plain text)").

Export​

Click Export to download a ZIP file, named after the article, containing:

  • The article as a Markdown file, with the title as the top heading
  • The article as a standalone, styled HTML file
  • An images folder with the featured image and any images in the article

Exporting several articles at once​

You can export articles in bulk from a cluster:

  1. Open the cluster and select the articles using the checkboxes
  2. Open the ⋮ menu and click Export (n)

Only articles that have been written can be exported, and you can export up to 20 at a time. You'll get a single ZIP file (articles- followed by the date) with a folder for each article.

To export one article from the cluster table, open its menu and click Export article.

The Articles page doesn't have an export option. Open the article and use Export in the editor.
