Keyword Metrics

Machined displays keyword metrics to help you evaluate and select the best keywords for your cluster.

Keyword Volume​

Keyword volume shows you how much organic search volume there is for this keyword. Higher volume means more people are searching for this term.

Advertising Competition​

Advertising competition gives you an indication of how valuable a keyword is. Higher competition typically means the keyword has commercial value, as advertisers are willing to pay more for it.

Historical Trend​

Historical trend shows you the keyword volume over the last 12 months. This helps you identify seasonal patterns or growing/declining interest in a topic.

Notes​

  • Keyword metrics are specific to the region chosen when the cluster was created
  • Keyword metrics are derived from Google Keyword Planner data as well as third-party APIs
  • Keyword data may not match your favourite keyword tool - this is normal, most tools don't agree on exact numbers
