Internal Linking

Note

Internal linking is an AI-driven feature. While we strive for accuracy, links can occasionally be misplaced or point to the wrong article. Always review internal links before publishing.

Machined automatically interlinks articles within a cluster when they are written. Links are woven naturally into the text using keyword-targeted anchor text, pointing to other articles in the same cluster.

Internal links are added as relative links, so they work automatically when all articles are published to the same directory on your site.

Tip

Publish all cluster articles at the same time where possible. If you publish gradually, remove links to articles that haven't gone live yet to avoid broken links.

Disabling internal linking

If you'd prefer to handle internal linking yourself or use an external tool, you can disable it per cluster before writing.

By default, Machined may link to the same article more than once within a single article. If you'd prefer each article is only linked once per piece, you can enable the Prevent duplicate links option.

This is a post-processing step — the AI writes links normally, then duplicates are removed. As a result, some link anchor text may remain in the article without a link attached.
