YouTube videos
Machined.ai can find relevant YouTube videos and embed them in your articles, where a video explains a section better than text.
Turning on YouTube videos
- Single articles: under Advanced settings → Media, turn on YouTube videos
- Clusters: in the Media tab of the cluster table
- Whole project: turn on YouTube videos in writing defaults, under Media
How videos are chosen
When the article is written, Machined searches YouTube for videos about your keyword, in the article's language. It looks for recent, well-watched videos from established channels, and picks the most relevant and educational ones for your article. Most articles get one video; longer ones get two.
Each video is placed just after a relevant section heading. If no suitable video is found, the article is written without one.
In the editor
Videos appear as embedded players in the article, and are listed in the Media section of the editor's right panel. To add a video yourself, paste a YouTube link into the article and it becomes an embed.
To remove a video, delete it from the article like any other content.
