Publishing to HubSpot Coming soon
Once you've connected your HubSpot blog, you can publish articles directly from Machined.ai.
Publishing an article
- Open a written article in the editor and click Publish in the bar above the article. From a cluster, you can also open the article's menu and click Publish article.
- If your project has more than one destination, choose your HubSpot blog.
- Choose a publish status, then click Publish.
The article is published to the blog, and under the author, you chose when you connected HubSpot. Machined sends the article's title, slug, meta description, body and featured image.
Publish status options
- Publish live: published immediately and publicly visible
- Save as draft: saved to HubSpot as a draft, not publicly visible
Slugs
HubSpot adds your blog's own path in front of the article's slug. For example, if your blog lives at /blog, an article with the slug my-article is published at /blog/my-article.
Images
Images are uploaded to your HubSpot File Manager, in a folder called machined.
If your HubSpot plan doesn't allow image uploads, or your service key doesn't have the files.write scope, the article is published without images. The success screen tells you when the featured image or any body images couldn't be uploaded.
If HubSpot doesn't publish the post
Occasionally HubSpot saves the post but doesn't make it live, for example if HubSpot has restricted your account from publishing. In that case the success screen shows "HubSpot saved this as a draft but didn't publish it", with the reason when HubSpot gives one. The post is kept as a draft in HubSpot, and publishing again updates that same post rather than creating another.
Publishing in bulk
Open a cluster, select the articles using the checkboxes, and click Publish (n). Choose your HubSpot blog and publish status. All selected articles that are ready to publish will be sent.
Updating or re-sending an article
Once published, an article shows Republish and Unpublish. Republish updates the existing HubSpot post with your latest changes; Unpublish lets you publish it again as a new post. An article can only be published to one CMS connection at a time. See Republishing and unpublishing.
If the post is already live in HubSpot, republishing updates the live post, even if you choose Save as draft.
If you've deleted the post in HubSpot, republishing shows "This post no longer exists in HubSpot". Unpublish the article in Machined, then publish it again to create a new post.
